Police seek club owner after hundreds arrested in drug raid

Bust follows similar raid on Rock Entertainment Center in February

PHNOM PENH - Authorities are searching for the Vietnamese owner of a night club raided for drugs on Saturday with 417 people arrested, a police spokesman said.

Phnom Penh Police Chief Sar Thet said it was not yet clear how much drugs had been seized in the raid on the "Luxurious" night club in Boeng Reang Commune in Daun Penh District.

“But we're continuing drug tests on the detained and over 200 people have been tested,” he told Thmey Thmey Sunday.  Most of the detainees are said to be Vietnamese or Chinese.

In February, police raided the Rock Entertainment Center, seizing 50 kilograms and arresting 300 people. The club has since been closed.
